[RF] Newsletter 070703
Greetings,
This month's newsletter is kind of special, if you'll pardon my nostalgia. It's been exactly one year since I sent out the first newsletter of my second term as RFCO. So that means I've been your CO for one year (some of you for more than that if you were here during my first term). Since this month marks my 1 year anniversary as RFCO this time around, it's going to see a special edition NL released within the next couple of weeks, in which I will hold a year in review. If you have any suggestions for items you would like to see in this special edition NL, please contact me soon.
But for now, on with the regular NL. There's lots of news to report for the month of June. First, as you all know I was on LOA for a week. General Harley "Jester" Quinn served admirably as RFACO during my absence. Unfortunately, following my return, Jester resigned from his positions within the RF. As the new STC CO, I appointed Rear Admiral Kyle Tobarn.
In other major news, the Allegiance Battle Group chose to downgrade itself to a wing and return to Redemption Fleet. This move was accomplished by Major Spyder Singh and carried out by the Internet Office. Unfortunately, just yesterday Spyder resigned from the Allegiance Wing CO spot, citing real life concerns. I wish Spyder the best, and as her replacement I have appointed LCL Zak Ciredik. Congrats, Zak, and good luck with the AW!
These were not the only command staff changes that this month saw. BGN Licah Fox resigned from the position of R2W CO, and in his place I appointed Rear Admiral Adam "Vender" Fene. Vender has already released ITOD mission 8.00 for R2W usage, and the R2W is looking stronger than ever. Congrats on a strong start, Vender!
In other news, Ghost Squadron continues to march onward with its interactive stories. Congrats to the Ghosties on being active!
Perhaps the most significant news of the past month is that Star Wars Galaxies has FINALLY BEEN RELEASED! This is great news for MGN Torin "Cody" Qel-Droma and the members of Vanguard Wing. Activity inside SWG has been hopping, with most of the RS presence concentrated in the Starsider server on Corellia. Some of you may have heard that I myself have been bitten by the SWG bug. I think SWG is a great game, and I encourage those who have the resources to buy it and discover a new wide world.
The webpage has received the usual updates to the membership numbers and command staff of the various divisions. The AW has been added back into the list of our divisions on the webpage.
As far as promotions go, I only have one to hand out today. Even though she has just recently resigned from the position of Allegiance Wing CO, Spyder Singh served the AW well during her time there, and she successfully managed the AW's entrance into the RF. In recognition of her work as ABG/AW CO, I hereby promote Spyder to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Congrats, Spyder!
CLASSIFIEDS: Rebel Squadrons Multimedia is in desperate need of artists to help further the mission of the group. If you like creating images, please contact Major Dhruv Kalra about helping out (cdtdhruvk2@charter.net).
That's it for now. Stay tuned for the special edition newsletter, to come out later this month. Remember everyone, my door is always open, so come talk to me or send me an email if you have concerns or questions! Alternatively, look me up in SWG. :) Have a good one, everybody!
Reach for the stars, and you will find that you can often catch them!
